Hills class update and changes to McHughs beginners
Hey Hopers
Below are updates for new beginners jive and swing classes starting
on Monday and Tuesday. In summary, new beginner classes start this
Monday in McHughs with Una, and Victoria and Richard started new
classes in Hill's last Tuesday and it's not too late to join
them. Also Victoria will be working on musicality in the improvers'
class.

Enjoy
Richard

** New Swing classes at McHughs every Monday
********************************************************************
Hi all

Huge apologies, but due to intermittent venue availability on Tuesdays
in June it's been necessary to switch the new Beginners Swing class to
Mondays, with kick off NEXT MONDAY June 1st at 7:30pm. We'd rather
you were able to start and keep going, rather than starting and then
having to miss a week.

The rest of the class details remain the same - the classes will work
on building up a solid foundation of 6-beat swing from which you'll
later be able to expand your repertoire into Lindy, balboa, shag and
various other cool grooves. And we'll play on for a while after class
for you to practise, iron out any problems etc.

The format for Swing@McHughs will be:

Mondays 7:30 - 8:30 Beginners' Swing class
Tuesdays 7:30 - 8:30 Improvers' Swing class
Tuesdays 9:00 - 11:00(ish) Basement Swing Club

Venue:
McHughs Bar (basement), Custom House Square, Belfast (by the Albert
clock) with good parking in Toome Street.

** New Jive and Swing classes at Hill's every Tuesday
********************************************************************
Hey All,
Thanks to everybody who came down to the class in Hill's Bar. It
was great to see all the new faces and to meet up with old friends.
We are back again next Tuesday with our next beginners' class where we
will continue working on our basic Jive steps as well as looking at a
few moves to get us on the dance floor. In the improvers Victoria
will be working on musicality, such as catching those breaks, and we
will go over some nice 8beat moves.
If you couldn't make it down last week it's still not too late to join.
Just come down this Tuesday and join in the fun!

Catch you on the dance floor soon!
Richard and Victoria

7pm Beginners Jive and East Coast Swing Drop-in Class (Tuesday). It
doesn't matter if you've never danced before - this fun and easy class
will start from scratch and introduce you to the basics of Jive and
East Coast Swing. No partner required!

8-8.30pm Practice Session (Tuesday)
You didn't get it in the class? Then stick around to practice with the
other students or ask the teachers for a bit of one-on-one feedback.

8.30-9.30pm Improvers Class (Tuesday)
You know the basics and you're ready for more. This class will help to
consolidate what you already know, focusing on rhythm, musicality and
connection to improve your technique. You should be comfortable with
6-beat rhythms and 8-beat swingouts.

9.30pm til late Social Dancing (Tuesday)
Put your new moves to good use on the dance floor. Social dancing is
the best practice there is, so take a deep breath and jump right in.
