McHugh's update: *** New swing class, KO 7pm Tues 2nd June *** Hi all Swing in McHugh’s – a growing Swing Scene! Una will be starting a new Beginner’s Swing class at McHughs Bar, Belfast on Tues 2nd June at 7pm. No previous experience required - Just bring your mojo and a pair of comfy shoes. We’ll be focusing on 6-beat swing in the first instance. This is a very versatile and accessible form of swing dance, and forms the backbone for all sorts of other interesting things that we will teach you later. With a solid foundation in 6-beat swing, you’ll soon be able to mix in Lindy-hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag … and whatever else the music moves you to do! There’s an existing Improvers class which will run from 8:15 to 9:15, followed by the well-established Basement Swing Club, where we turn down the lights, turn up the music, and you allow the atmosphere of this intimate venue to inspire you to… PRACTICE! J Format for the night: 7:00 – 8:00 Beginners’ Swing class 8:15 – 9:15 Improvers’ Swing class 9:15 – 11:00(ish) Basement Swing Club Venue: McHughs Bar (basement), Custom House Square, Belfast (by the Albert clock) with good parking in Toome Street.
