New swing / jive class in new venue
Hey hip Kats and cool Chicks!

Just to let you know that the beginners swing class starts next Tuesday the 26th of May, at 7pm upstairs in Hills Bar on Lisburn Road. The venue is great with split floor level, there are lots of nice mirrors so you can perfect your killer moves, and of course it wouldn't be complete without the odd sparkly disco ball thrown in. This is a new class kicking off so your support would be really appreciated. See below for more details.

7pm Beginners Drop-in Class
It doesn't matter if you've never danced before - this fun and easy class will start from scratch and introduce you to the basics of jive and lindy hop. No partner required!

8-8.30pm Practice Session
You didn't get it in the class? Then stick around to practice with the other students or ask the teachers for a bit of one-on-one feedback.

8.30-9.30pm Improvers Class
You know the basics and you're ready for more. This class will help to consolidate what you already know, focusing on rhythm, musicality and connection to improve your technique. You should be comfortable with 6-beat rhythms and 8-beat swingouts.

9.30pm til late Social Dancing
Put your new moves to good use on the dance floor. Social dancing is the best practice there is, so take a deep breath and jump right in.

Your Teachers.

Victoria has danced and taught her way around the world, from Japan to Australia, Italy and back, performing with the Hullabaloo Hoppers and Sakura Swing along the way. Since hanging up her travelling shoes (but not her Mary Janes) she has become a quiet civil servant by day, but she remains a passionate, devoted follower of swing.

Richard comes from a Latin background and has taught Salsa in Belfast for 7 years. His passion for swing developed from watching old silver screen films and aspiring to dance like Fred Astaire. An old-fashioned smoothie on the dance floor, he is well known for whisking the ladies off their feet.
